Air attacks

Things to look for when raiding with air units (in order of importance):

1. how many defenses against air are upgraded

2. Air defense placement

3. X-bows are pointed to ground, air or both

4. Archer Queen placement (outside is better so that you can lure her out away from defenses)

5. Clan castle placement

6. Wizard tower/archer tower placement

7. Town hall placement

8. Other buildings placement

what to look for when doing air raids

When doing air raids make sure you always have minions or something similar to take out the clan castle troops/archer queen/barbarian king. You can also just use a poison spell, lightning spell(s) or earthquake spell(s). To lure the clan castle troops, archer queen and/or the barbarian king just place down a troop and wait for them to come after it. Keep doing this until they are away from any defenses and then you can take them out with your troops/spells.
